Drupal's built-in search is pretty basic. When people use your Drupal website they expect search to be as good as, if not better than Google. Because that is what they are used too! This is not really the fault of Drupal itself but rather has to do with the database that the system runs on. Whether it be MySQL, Postgres or something else, it's all the same problem; database's were not built for full text search. Our Funnelback Search for Drupal service help you solve this problem.
As part of our commitment to improving Drupal and our clients websites, Agileware has developed a module to integrate Funnelback and Drupal to provide significantly improved search results for your website by integrating the features of Funnelback Search. Our Drupal module supports many advanced features including:
- Full text indexing of your Drupal website: This includes controlling which parts of your Drupal theme get indexed and which get followed by the Funnelback crawler.
- Featured pages: So if you find a term is commonly searched for or have a current promotion, you can push this page to the top of your search results.
- Clickback tracking: Find out which results were actually clicked for a given search term.
- Metadata for Drupal: You can use any of the metadata that Funnelback collects as specific search fields, to limit results to particular set of users or even include the metadata in your result output. Especially valuable for Australian Government websites requiring AGLS metadata compliance. It is also possible to expose specific metadata fields as part of an advanced search form alowing users to query fields for specific values. This feature does require customisation based on the metadata fields required.
- Access control: Return results that are only relevant to the current Drupal user, including results that only appear in your private organic groups.

Our Approach
- Personal consultation by an Agileware Software Engineer. See Your Search Requirements for more details.
- You supply details to allow us remote access to the server where Funnelback is to be installed and the Drupal website.
- By default we will configure up to 2 web search collections (the websites that Funnelback will index).
- We then remote into your server, download and install the Funnelback Search server; login to your Drupal website, install and configure the Funnelback Search for Drupal module; create the web search collections and start Funnelback indexing of the websites.
- If required, we will configure clickback tracking and featured pages for you.
- Once indexing is complete, Funnelback Search will be available on your Drupal website. This will replace the standard Drupal search and search results pages.
- We will then adjust your Drupal website and website theme to ensure that the search results are seamlessly integrated.
- Once integration is complete, we will then contact you and provide a remote desktop training session for the Funnelback Drupal module and Funnelback Administration interface. You can ask any questions you may have during this session.
Options
The following options are an additional cost.
- Advanced Search Options:
- Search custom fields: Select this option to use Funnelback Search to query specific metadata fields in the web search collection. These metadata fields must exist in the pages being indexed.
- Search non-public content: Select this option to use Funnelback Search to query pages that have access control restrictions. Such as content within private organic groups or that have other access restrictions.
- Additional Customisation: Select this option if you require additional customisation to the Funnelback Search configuration, Funnelback Search module or any other aspects of the search query or search results.
- Funnelback Search License: Select this option if you require a license for the Funnelback Search server. We will provide a quote based on the estimated pages being indexed.
Timetable
Timetable for delivery is usually 3 to 5 business days. The more responsive you are the faster we can deliver. Onsite installation will require additional time, depending on your location.

- Remote access to the server for the installation.
- URLs of the website(s) to index
- Estimated number of pages that will be indexed
- If clickback tracking is required or not
